Vespasian, 69-79. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.46 g, 6 h), Rome, 77-78. IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG Laureate head of Vespasian to right. Rev. COS VIII Mars standing front, head to left, holding spear in his right hand and trophy over his left shoulder. BMC 200. Cohen 129. RIC 937. Lightly toned and with a wonderful portrait of Vespasian. Faint marks, otherwise, good very fine.

From the collection of a Swiss scholar and previously from an old Swiss collection, formed in the 1970s and 1980s.
